When my boyfriend moved into my townhouse, I wanted him to feel at home too. It was the perfect push to tackle small projects I'd been dreaming of. Follow along to see the rooms we updated and how we created spaces we both love.

Change Pillow Covers: Swap out pillow covers for a fresh look. They’re affordable and can dramatically change the vibe of a room.
Add Paint: A fresh coat of paint or some colorful accents can transform a space. Consider painting an accent wall or updating old furniture with a new color.
Use Removable Wallpaper: For an instant update, try removable wallpaper or decals. They’re easy to apply and remove, making them perfect for renters or those who like to change things up.
DIY Art: Create your own artwork or frame inexpensive prints and photos. It’s a great way to personalize your space without spending a lot.
Repurpose Furniture: Give old furniture a new lease on life with a coat of paint or new hardware. Repurposing items you already own can save money and reduce waste.
Shop Secondhand: Explore thrift stores, garage sales, and online marketplaces for budget-friendly finds. You might discover unique pieces at a fraction of the cost. This dresser in the photo below started as a purchase for $25 from Facebook Marketplace, it was cherry wood. I painted it a few years ago, white for my daughter's room, and a few weeks ago repainted it black to match my new bedroom.

Accessorize: Update your space with new accessories like rugs, curtains, or decorative items. These small changes can have a big impact.
Greenery: Adding plants can liven up any room and make it feel more inviting. Look for low-maintenance options or even try growing your own.
Lighting: Update your lighting with inexpensive fixtures or new lampshades. Changing the lighting can completely alter the atmosphere of a room.
DIY Projects: Get creative with DIY projects like making your own art, refurbishing furniture, or creating custom decor items.
These ideas can help you refresh your space without breaking the bank!
